What are Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are root formed screws that are inserted into healthy bone and act as artificial anchors for crowns, bridges and dentures.

This allows the restoration of gaps without the destruction of adjacent teeth

Implants heal for 6 weeks to 3 months before crown, bridgework or denture work can be fitted.

In some cases, immediate crowns and denture work maybe constructed and fitted reducing the time of surgery.

Implant surgery requires adequate volume of bone. If this is not present, augmentation procedures maybe carried out in practice or hospital based environment, that would allow implant placement at a later date.
