“Cosmetic dentistry” describes a number of techniques used individually or in combination to repair, replace or enhance a persons teeth resulting in an improved smile and appearance. In fact, a recent survey revealed that 71% of adults believe an unattractive smile can hurt a person's chances for career success, while 93% say an attractive smile is an important social asset.
The available treatments can be used to re-shape, straighten, repair, lighten or even replace teeth and can be used on a small scale to rectify problems with individual teeth or on a large scale to create full mouth reconstructions.
Please follow the links below for more detail on each of the cosmetic dental treatments offered by Duffield Road Dental Centre:
Tooth whitening (bleaching) – the process of lightening the appearance of the tooth or teeth using a bleaching gel and/or application of a laser/halogen light source.

Crowns – cosmetic covers matched to the existing teeth and designed to protect, strengthen and disguise surface defects. Also fitted when the existing tooth is unable to support further filling. See example case below.
Implants – a titanium rod implanted into the jaw bone to replace a missing tooth root and to act as a foundation for a replacement crown or as an anchor for dentures. Implants also act to reverse the negative effects of missing teeth by supporting remaining teeth and maintaining the natural bite profile.

Bridges – a custom designed and fitted device anchored to adjacent teeth and designed to “bridge the gap” formed when teeth are lost. The bridge supports one or more crown units which replace the missing teeth.
